Wedding Weekend

This weekend, Tyler and I traveled home to Allen, Texas to be a part of our good friend Danielle's wedding!  It was such a beautiful wedding, and we were so glad we got to share the weekend with her.  It was so much fun being with our friends and family, and of course dancing the night away.  Danielle was beautiful, and I'm so glad I got the chance to sing in the wedding for her.

Here are all the girls at the rehearsal.  It was like reliving prom night (so many pictures)!  It was so much fun to see my "besties."  We had not seen each other since we left for school in August!

After a wonderful dinner at Mama Emilia's Italian Restaurant, we headed back to Allen to finish the night off with unlimited bowling at Allen Bowl!  Not only was it unlimited bowling, but it was "glow bowl!"  That means bowling under black lights!

After bowling, we headed back to my parents house where we were staying to get a good night's rest for the big day.  The next morning, I headed to the Nicholson house to help set tables and alphabetize place cards.  We spent the morning getting things ready for the after party, and then we headed back home for a bridal brunch.  The rest of the afternoon was spent participating in a punt, pass, and kick challenge at the Ellis house, and Saturday afternoon football (Oklahoma vs. Texas).  Then, it was off to the chapel!

Everything was beautiful, the dresses, "the dress," the veil, the aisle, the stage, the flowers...you get it!  We took pictures, and I get to play bouncer for the bridal room.  I made sure no one got in who was not on the list.  It was a beautiful ceremony, and once again, I'm so glad I got to be a part of it all.  Not only was the ceremony beautiful, the reception was gorgeous!  It was perfect weather, and they couldn't have done a better job making their home look the way it did.  Here is a picture of the place cards.  They hung from shutters which hung in between some trees!

They had lights strung from the trees and mason jar candles hung on shepherd hooks which created a path through the tables.

Each table had a lantern for its centerpiece, along with other candles. You drank from a mason jar, and every five tables had a different pattern napkin.  The details put into the whole night were incredible!

It was such a wonderful weekend.  I got to see my family and my closest friends.  Below are just some more pictures from the weekend.

Homecoming Weekend!

Well...Ouachita didn't win the game, but it was a wonderful weekend nonetheless.  Friday night, Tyler and I drove to Benton, AR to get a new camera...and...WE GOT ONE!  It is so nice to have a camera that is brand new and works!  Plus, it was perfect timeing because there was so much going on.  Tyler's parents got here on Saturday afternoon.  On our way to the football game, we stopped by to see...

That's right!!!  We had a real life tiger on our campus for the day.  It was so cool, and it was definitely the big hit of the day (since Ouachita lost).  Though the football game was a bust, three of my closest friends were on the homecoming court.  Lauren, Laura, and Hayley looked beautiful.  All three of them were all in my house party at the wedding.  Laura won second runner up, and Hayley won queen!

It was great to see my friends.  Molly, Lauren, Karlee, and Audreyanna were in the tiger tunes show, so I would also get to see them perform in the show later that night.  When we finally decided to leave the game we headed back to the apartment to fix dinner.  We made broccoli chowder, and boy was it delicious.

Then it was off to the show.  Tiger Tunes 2009!  It was so wonderful, and I think it was the most I had laughed at a show yet!  A couple of my favorites included the Tri Chi soccer moms, and the men of 4th floor campus security.  Neither of them placed, but they definitely should have.

With so many house guests, so many different activities going on, and of course the changing weather, it has proved to be a wonderful month so far here in Arkansas!  We're not through with October yet...next weekend, Tyler and I are going home to Allen for our good friend Danielle's wedding!  We are so excited to celebrate with her, and it will be so fun to spend time with our families and friends.  It will be interesting to attend our first wedding as a married couple, but I'm really looking forward to it.  Best wishes and congratulations Danielle and Tate.  We love you both and can't wait to share the big day with you!

Happy Homecoming Weekend!

Here's the Deal

So...there's been a lot going on here in Arkadelphia.  The sad news is that my camera has died.  As in, it has taken its last picture.  This means no photo updates of what's been going on.  The good news, however, is that Tyler and I are going to buy a new camera tomorrow!  So there are sure to be pictures soon of these next couple of weeks.
Aside from all of that, things have been so wonderful here!  We have had a lot of guests come and stay with us.  Tyler's younger brother Ryan celebrated his 21st birthday in September, and his older brother Jeremy was able to come surprise him.  Jeremy recently came back from Costa Rica, and we had so much fun spending time with him, showing him around, and hearing all about his trip.  It was so nice to catch up with each other, and we can't wait to see pictures!
After Jeremy left, our good friend Jordan came for a visit.  We had a wonderful dinner of pork chops, Au gratin potatoes, and salad.  The next day, we went to Hot Springs to shop downtown and have lunch.  It was so much fun, and to top it all off, we went to the Ouachita football game where we beat #9 ranked team, Delta State!  Our guest list doesn't stop there.
The next weekend my parents came to visit. Once again, we had a delicious dinner at home: southern cornbread stuffed whole chicken.  It was wonderful, and it was the first whole chicken I had ever cooked!  After dinner, we took a walk around campus and then went to the "Frozen Stone" and had ice cream.  The next day, Tyler and I took my parents to Hot Springs because my mother had never been there before.  We visited the historical Arlington Hotel, stuck our hands in a hot spring, saw Hot Springs from an observation tower, and then ate lunch at Cajun Boilers (best hush puppies EVER!).  Stopped off at a couple other places to run some errands and then headed back to Arkadelphia.  We had pizza before they left, and watched the play-by-play for the Ouachita game.  It was sad to say goodbye to my parents, but we will see them again soon!
You would think we would have had enough traveling, but we decided to go to Little Rock the next day to shop.  I needed a black dress for our friend Danielle's wedding, and so we set off to find one.  As busy as the weekend was, it was so wonderful!  We can't wait for our next guests.  Tyler's parents are coming for homecoming weekend on Saturday, and we'll be able to take pictures!  So...next post = picture update!
